Klezmer- Grating and Rumbly

I went to go see The Dresden Dolls (+Luminescent Orchestrii and Meow Meow) at The TLA in Philly last December, and being as it was my first ACTUAL CONCERT (read: concert that I wanted to attend) I found it pretty phenomenal. I am a rabid, ravenous fan of the Dolls and didn't pay anyone else too much mind, which is why I was faintly surprised when I checked out Lumii again a few weeks later on a whim and found out I really, really liked them. From there I've jumped to World/Inferno Friendship Society, a little bit to DeVotchKa, and to NaNuchKa.

I think what I really like about all these Klezmerish bands is the lack of convention and the very grating, rumbly melodies; using voices, violins, accordions, what-have-you; it seems like an anything-goes kind of standard, IMHO. High pitches, technically, but with a very "raw" sound to them.
